The multifamily housing industry demands constant composure—managing resident issues, juggling deadlines, and supporting teams in high-pressure situations. Yet, beneath that professionalism, many people experience “hidden stress patterns” that quietly drain focus and resilience. These patterns can show up as overworking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, emotional shutdown, or numbing behaviors that keep you stuck in survival mode.

In this eye-opening and practical session, Emily Paxton, MA, LMHC, RD—licensed therapist, registered dietitian, and creator of Aligned & Unstoppable™—shares how to recognize and reset these internal reactions before they take a toll on well-being or performance. Drawing from neuroscience and self-leadership principles inspired by the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, Emily offers accessible, real-world tools to help professionals manage stress in the moment, communicate with clarity, and restore balance mentally and physically.

Attendees will leave with a better understanding of their own stress responses and simple techniques to stay centered—even when the pressure is on. 

Learning Objectives:   

  • Identify common hidden stress patterns and understand how they impact performance and well-being.
  • Learn how the brain and nervous system respond under chronic pressure and why certain reactions are automatic protective responses. 
  • Apply 3-4 quick regulation and self-awareness tools to stay composed, energized, and effective in difficult moments.
  • Build a simple plan to recognize early signs of overwhelm and return to calm more quickly.
