Hire Talent Through the IAA Service Technician Program
Looking to fill a service technician position at your community? The IAA Service Technician Program is your trusted staffing solution. Since its launch, the program has successfully connected trained, job-ready candidates with employers across the multifamily industry. In 2020, we proudly achieved a 100% job placement for the program graduates.
Developed by industry expert Mark Cukro, the curriculum is tailored specifically to multifamily maintenance and includes:
- Intro to the Multifamily Industry
- Basics of Electrical
- Basics of Appliance Repair
- Basics of Plumbing
- The Make-Ready Process
- Fair Housing for Maintenance
- Professionalism and Customer Service
Internship Details
To complete their training, each student is paired with an IAA member company for a 4-week paid internship. As the host site, your company must:
- Pay a minimum of $15/hour
- Hire the student as a part-time employee (up to 30 hours/week)
- Ensure the student completes at least 100 hours during the internship.
Each week, IAA will provide a training checklist to both the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. The checklist must be completed with the student and returned to IAA for review. At the end of the internship, you'll have the opportunity to offer full-time employment.
