Countdown to Summer: Your Week-by-Week Pool Opening Plan
Opening a seasonal pool takes more than pulling off the cover and turning on the pumps—it requires a structured plan that starts weeks in advance. In this session, we’ll walk through a practical 10-week countdown checklist to help pool operators stay ahead of staffing, permitting, chemical ordering, equipment inspections, repairs, water balancing, safety preparation, and final training.
Participants will leave with a clear timeline they can apply immediately to reduce last-minute stress, prevent costly startup mistakes, and launch the season confidently and safely.
Learning Objectives:
- Build a 10-week pool opening timeline that organizes staffing, permitting, purchasing, and documentation tasks in the proper order.
- Identify and prioritize critical mechanical and safety checkpoints (pump room audits, VGB compliance, electrical inspections, signage, emergency equipment) to reduce risk and downtime.
- Plan a repeatable startup process for water quality and operations, including filling, circulation startup, manual balancing, automation setup, and team training before opening day.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT: To earn continuing education credits (CECs), participants must attend the live virtual class. Credits will not be awarded for viewing the recording posted on the IAA website following the session. Attendees are encouraged to turn on their webcams and participate in polls and discussion with the speaker(s). Credit hours are based on webinar duration.
