Emergency Response Manual & Kit
Are you prepared for an Emergency?
No one wishes for an emergency situation, but it is always important that your multifamily property is prepared in the event of a disaster from flood, fire, tornado or other natural disaster.
Michaelis Insurance Restoration Services is the sponsor of the IAA Emergency Response Manual & Kit that is available to all IAA members. The new manual, developed by the Indiana Apartment Association, will guide you through the process of creating an effective plan for your apartment community.
You never know when a disaster may strike, but you will feel at ease knowing that you have prepared your staff and your property in the event something occurs. GET PREPARED TODAY!
It is a good idea to have at least one "Disaster Kit," which includes the following items:
- Closable plastic tub
- 1" binder with property documents in plastic sleeves (in this manual)
- 2 permanent black markers
- Writing tablet
- Duct tape
- Dust mask; set of 4 or 5
- First Aid Kit
- Identifiable waterproof rain ponchos; 2
- Heavy duty flash light
- Package of batteries for flashlight
- Yellow caution tape
- Yellow spray paint
- Black spray paint
- Disposable camera
- Leather gloves
- Disposable vinyl gloves; pkg of 25-50
- Heavy duty trash bags
- ID cards and shirts (supplied by management company)
- Scissors
- Box cutter
- IAA Blue Book, Your Resource for Products and Services
Pre-made disaster kits are available through the Indiana Apartment Association. Update and or/refresh these items on a quarterly basis. This item can be shipped WITHOUT the plastic tub or it can be picked up at the IAA Office.
