Getting Involved

Volunteer for a Campaign

Are you interested in meeting some movers and shakers in the political arena? Have you ever thought about working on a campaign for a candidate for a state-level office? The 2012 campaign season is looking like it may be one of the most competitive in some time as several seats will be open as state legislators are retiring. IAA is contacted from time to time from elected officials looking for volunteers to work on their campaigns.

IAA is going to create and maintain a database of those across the state who would like to help candidates get elected to office. Here are some things you may be asked to do on a campaign:

  • Go door-to-door to hand out information about the candidate
  • Work a phone bank to educate voters and encourage them to cast their ballots
  • Put together mailings to send out to potential voters
  • Put out yard signs in neighborhoods inside the district of the candidate
  • Other activities the campaign may use

Sound interesting? Then, let IAA know that you are willing to give of your time and talents to help someone get elected.
